Vitamin Therapy
The Fleming Clinics strives to offer the most innovative and effective treatments for skin rejuvenation. With this in mind we have expanded our range to include treatments and skin care devised by Dr Des Fernandes, a South African plastic surgeon of world renown. He has studied the causes of environmental skin aging and what best to do to repair this damage and reduce further sun and environmental effects. His strategy is to use certain vitamins to normalise skin and fight free radicals. With this in mind he created a range of topical skin care products called Environ, that have a pharmaceutical and medical basis. Vitamin A is a major part of his therapy, which needs to be introduced and increased gradually. The Environ Original range increases in the amount of Vitamin A as you move up through the range enabling the skin to acclimatise to the active ingredients. Vitamin C, E and Provitamin B5 are all part of the equation.
Staff at The Fleming Clinics offer a professional Skin Analysis which will establish the cause of your skin problems which then enable them to correctly prescribe the skin care needed. A full assessment of the skin is performed including the use of a skin diagnostic machine to measure the levels of melanin, erythema, lipid levels and hydration.
To help with the penetration of topically administered vitamins Dr Fernandes developed a clinical ionzyme treatment system using iontophoresis and sonophoresis which can increase absorption by up to 4000%. Skin Peels
We offer a variety of Environ peeling systems which we feel are the safest and most effective peeling systems available. They were developed by Dr Des Fernandes to meet the needs of today's sun-damaged skin.
Environ peels are different to other peel systems as they have pioneered the production of acidic creams and gels instead of the traditional solutions. Tri-chloracetic acid [TCA] in a cream or gel form is used as it gives a controlled, even, safe and effective peel with no sensitivity reactions. A range of strengths and pH levels are available and chosen after a thorough analysis of the skin. For more sensitive skins, where milder exfoliation is required, we have Lactic acid in a gel form. This Lac-pamgel is not only suitable for fine, sensitive skins but also for darker pigmented skins where other peels are contra-indicated.

Ionzyme Treatments
Iontophoresis has been used in recent years in the medical field for the topical absorption of drugs through the skin. The beauty industry has used it, but in a limited way, up until now. Dr Des Fernandes of Environ has led the way in the revolution of iontophoresis and sonophoresis being used for the absorption of active vitamins into the epidermis of the skin, to improve cell function and reduce environmental damage. Recent medical research back up Dr Fernandes findings that these treatment protocols are superior for increasing absorption of active ingredients to eliminate pigmented blemishes and normalizing skin.
- Iontophoresis is the use of an electrical current to aid penetration of an ionized form of certain active ingredients into the skin. It is either used through a gauze sheet, mask or with a roller. It is a pleasantly relaxing treatment with no discomfort.
- Sonophoresis uses low level sound waves to increase absorption by up to 4000%. You are aware of sound as the applicator runs over the surface of the skin, but no discomfort is felt.
These treatments are usually used in conjunction with each other and as a series for best effects.

Advanced Treatment Program - The Fleming Advanced Skin Treatment Procedure - Phase One
This is our signature treatment.
It is one of the most effective programs available for skin that has suffered environmental damage due to sun exposure and is showing the signs of aging. This aging process is seen in the loss of structural integrity, pigmentation, vascular blemishes and loss of resiliency and adhesion (lines, wrinkles and sagging skin!).
The treatment involves using potent Vitamin A, C and anti oxidant creams to build up the skins repair system and is followed by a peel, pulsed light and ionzyme treatments in a specific plan of action. It is sold as a package which includes the skin analysis, home care products and the four treatments. Correct time frames between treatments are critical for optimum effect.

The Fleming Advanced Skin Treatment Program - Phase Two
This is an optional follow on to the Advanced Skin Treatment Program. It consists of another pulsed light treatment followed by a series of Environ Ionzyme treatments on a weekly basis using Intense Retinol. Home care with a higher concentration of Vitamins A and C are included This makes a fantastic maintenance program for those in need of that something extra.
